Damn bug splatters, anyone have a trick to gettinem off

i live in south texas so every tiem i drive around i get about 10 billion bug splatters on my front end. Well i washed my car last week and it seemed like i had to sit there for like 20 mins and scrub the damn thigns off with a brush to get all that crud off. Anyone know if there is a formula for gettin that **** off a little easier?

Gunk makes a good cleaner: "Bug & Tar Remover". I then follow with soap, water, and touch-up detailer.

Personally I use simple green for the bugs, even if the bugs are baked on it gets them off....then follow with your usual car soap....wd-40 for the tar.

I always wax it really good after the wash, the using the bug and tar remover they come off pretty easy.

Turtle wax bug and tar. spray it on maybe give a lil wipe on the real hard ones rinse off. wash car and I always hit the nose cone area with some more wax.

Believe it or not if you spray the front end with a light coating of pam cooking spray before going out the bug splatter will wash right off with very little scrubing....makes getting the critters off alot easier....

I do that behind the rear tires before a night on the track. Helps peel the Micky Thompsons off the rear bumper.

there's some types of sponges and stuff they sell at auto parts stores that help.. i've got one and it has a nylon/mesh type of net around the sponge. Doesnt scratch the paint and the bugs/tar come off without any scrubbing

I used a claybar but it still didn't get them all off. I tried turtlewax bug and tar, and no dice with that either. I'll try WD40 or PB blaster and then rewax. Those bugs are really baked on. I have a few dings in my bumper anyway so I may just get a new one as an excuse.

Bug Removal

Here in Northwest Florida we have a nasty problem with lovebugs, couple times a year, normally i use a pair of panty hose, works great for me.

The thing with bugs is that you have to remove them fast. However no matter how long the bugs were on for, ENOUGH strokes of the claybar always got them off, and this sometimes meant doing one section for like a minute.

Personally, i wouldnt use any of the stuff advised above, except the claybar. its a nice safe way to take off the bugs...but youll have to apply wax again afterward.. as you probably would with the other stuff anyway...
