My throat is killing me. Last night I could hardly talk. Went to the docs they did a strep test and said its not that its just a virus. But he didn't give me anything. I asked what I could take for my throat he said normal throat lozenges. Well they don't work I've tried cold drinks which works while I'm swallowing but I can't constantly drink. Tried hot tea that didn't do much, used spray that do anything. Took an Ibuprofen earlier before I went to bed it didn't hurt as bad when I woke up but that might be from sleeping I don't know. Then comes to sleep or lack there of. I go to sleep and I sleep for a half hour then wake up caughing and in pain then I'm up for an hour or 2 or more watch some tv finially get back to sleep then up in another half hour.

I just want the pain to go away

Dont they have some kind of Rx spray that numbs up the back of your throat?

That sucks brah - hope you feel better.

Its not strep. Just a virus but he didn't say what virus. This morning was horrible, throwing up again and now I have this weird feeling in my throat when I swallow and a weird taste that wont go away.

I usually walk the gf to her bus but she didn't wake me up this morning I was getting worried and kept calling finially she texted me that she was in bed. She had been throwing up all night had a sore throat, headache, couldn't breath right and a high temp. oops guess I passed it on

Jinx, you have to trust me on this one......lol
I have done this and it works, take some vinegar, and small red peppers...
let them sit in a small jar for a little while, then take a "rock" glass, if you go to the bar you will know what I'm talking about...pour the vinegar into the glass and slam it back, you can chase it but wait a couple of seconds....it will provide relief for hours and then repeat it as soreness occurs......
also get some chewable Vit C and some Zinc vitamins....quickest way to bolster up the immune system. I usually take 2000 mg of C and one 500 Zinc per day.......

It's what you get when you get a mixed drink....Jack and coke etc....just use a 4 oz glass....I'm not pulling your leg on this one.....I could barely swallow years ago and the doc wouldn't do sh#t for me and an elderly woman who the family knew gave me the jar of vinegar and peppers, this mixture will burn going down but it will burn some of the bacteria on your throat causing the swelling.....I chased it with Pepsi...it only tasted like azz for a few seconds but is worth the result..

If you don't trust that then at least get the C and Z.......get your immune system back to where it needs to be.

get altoids bro. Get the ones that come in the blue-ish can.. They are so cold on your throat it makes most sore throats unnoticable while sucking on one.. I think they work way better then any cough drop.

well woke up again this morning throat killing me so I stole my moms car and went in search of altoids at like 4am. Found wintergreen ones that are in a blueish-green tin guess thats the ones. They acually do help. I'm calling my normal doc tomorrow and see what the hells going on.


As for the gf she went to the docks and has pneumonia. So I'm worried I have that too. Going back to the docs at 11 to see my normal doc.


Got a house fire this morning and we only get like 1 a year so my stupid ass went bad idea I felt like **** the whole time thought I was gonna barf. No more calls till I'm better

I've had Strep 5 times this last year. It's about time for the tonsils to come out I guess. I hear it's not fun when you are older.

well doc thinks I have a sinus infection and gave me meds. Even his nurse was supprised the guy I seen the other day didn't give me anything. He said that he don't believe I have pneumonia but the meds he gave me are strong enough that if i have the start of it, it should take care of it.

Some of the worst throat issues I ever had was from allergies - the gallons of snot going down the back of my throat aggravated it I guess. I know that's not your issue, but if your throat is acting like a snot-sewer-drainpipe, that might not be helping.

Hope the new stuff helps. If I thought you were old enough, I'd say that some schnaps (sp) would help.
