Some of the worst throat issues I ever had was from allergies - the gallons of snot going down the back of my throat aggravated it I guess. I know that's not your issue, but if your throat is acting like a snot-sewer-drainpipe, that might not be helping.

Hope the new stuff helps. If I thought you were old enough, I'd say that some schnaps (sp) would help.

take some vinegar, and small red peppers...
let them sit in a small jar for a little while, then take a "rock" glass, if you go to the bar you will know what I'm talking about...pour the vinegar into the glass and slam it back, you can chase it but wait a couple of seconds....it will provide relief for hours and then repeat it as soreness occurs......

Am I the only one who would have tried it? I don't know about you guys, but I can't stand being sick. Heck yeah I'd do it. My fiance's grandfather seems to have a "natural" cure for everything .... so I'd ask him too, though.

Back when I was in basic training .... EVERYONE was sick as a dog. Sleeping in a bay of 60 people, there's no way around it. Then came the gas chamber. Everyone went in sick ..... everyone came out feeling like superman. I literally had running mucous hanging from my face .... touching the ground (pretty picture, I know). It burned like ****, but it was well worth it.

Jinx, hope you get to feeling better man.

DD, I actually dont drink. Havent since Prohibition............. Actually not since I was about 22 years old.

Wouldnt burbon in the coffee indicate that you think I'm an alcholic (like putting it in soda cans and drinkin all day)? I know my posts are hard to follow, but that's all natural baby.

And yes that is the reason my throat hurts. I have snot running down it like every other damn time I get sick.

Justin: Do they actually gas you? if so thats kinda shady

Err went to sleep, woke up, got back to sleep, woke up again thought to myself I've been a sleep a while now wonder what time it is. I looked at my phone it was 12:44

Yeah, they gas us. It's for training purposes. They use a CS agent/gas. Not deathly because they never exposed us to it in full effect. But it sure feels like it when you pull that mask off while in the chamber! I've done it 3 times & would do it again.

From another site: Effects

Physical effects of this tear gas are felt almost immediately. They are: severe burning in the eyes, involuntary closing of the eyes, copious tearing, extreme burning in the nose, tendency to breathe through the mouth, extreme burning in the throat, coughing, consciousness of pain, holding of breath, breathing and heart rate slows down, blood pressure rises, circulation on the periphery of the body shuts down. In some cases there can be mucus secretion, nausea and vomiting, also burning sensations on the body in places touched by the hands. Recovery quickly follows after an affected person is immersed in fresh air. CS gas is not known to have caused any deaths or permanent injuries, however its use has been banned in some American military operations.

All of that sounds to be true .... except for the last part. It has caused deaths. Do a search on it and you'll find the proof. Also, it's not banned in the military (at least not the Army), because .... we still use it!

No JT, wouldn't think that.....and as I was going to tell Justin I grew up in S. Virginia right on the tip of NC and we had these elderly woman called "root doctors" who always had some natural remedies and they worked.....
as far as the burbon in coffee , I can remember "way" back to my grandfather giving me a small cup of coffee with burbon and then you lay under some blankets and sweat like crazy but you felt better....
and Justin, if you ever have a swollen throat and it hurts to swallow...try the above and you will have eased the pain.....my OF brother...

I know mang - I was just messing with you.

I recall also being given a nip of something that put fire in my innards and it always helped, even if in just an anesthetic way.
