does anyone use their xcal 2 to data log their car? i cant figure out how to get it to work. i tried everything they tell you to do on the sct site but just cant get it to work.
Don't skip steps, and read everything carefully. Make sure you plug the xcal into your car, then to your laptop, turn the car to the on position, then start the program. not usre if that makes a difference, but that's what they say to do.
There are tons of threads on datalogging on the SCT Flash support forum. Though it does a lot, it's not all there yet. However, it does work but you have to really work it. Make sure you have the latest firmware too. That's a common one.

I feel your pain. I've been doing some stand alone data logging with the x-cal. It takes some patience and some time to get it to work. Make sure you have all the updates and latest firmware. Pearl02.
plug your xcal into your car. when it powers up, scroll down to I'D or something. can't remember off the top of my head. then select it, turn the key on and it gives you the code.
your strat is the 1st 5 digits of your code.
its all in the instructions that you're failing to read. .

He may not be failing to read the instructions. These X-cals have problems and the drivers suck. Just make sure you have all the updates. If you continue to have problems, send the X-cal back to SCT. They will check it out for you. I finally got mine to work without any help from that SCT forum. Good luck man. Pearl02.
