Dealership May Have Put 6 Qts In My 92 Lx 5.0

Okay, changed to 5 actual quarts Mobil One and Mobil filter... the oil that poured out looked rather dirty, as the oil guys noticed... maybe it needed that flushing out, any way.

I ran it up 95 and got it nice and hot... went about thirty miles after change, all together....

After 30 minutes of sitting, the stick oil is very clear, but the read mark is right at the F line where the MFG says it should go... at FIVE ACTUAL quarts...

So I think I am good there.

As for the OIL PRESSURE GUAGE:

Still reading way low at warm idle, but never below the final white line at the "L." Otherwise, it picks back up and stays between "R" and "M" when moving... so no real change there.

One of the oil guys said that running 10W-30 since the end of the break in at 12,000 and then going to 5W-30 might have caused the lower readings... but hopefully, as Angelo said, above, it will "correct through consumption."

I like the idea of just driving the thing! On a car that old, you can start screwing with the magic that is holding the rest of it together if you start replacing a bunch of stuff (that's my superstition, anyway).
