Gonna get electric cutouts but I'm not quite sure. Should I cut into the mid pipe and put them before the X, or but them after the crossover right before the mufflers?

I will try to get a vid clip as well as dyno it just for fun. My estimates.. gain 7 hp, lose 12 ft lbs of torque :p but I'm not doing it for power, just for LOUD sound on command.

Thoughts? :)

I want the electric ones too. Where did you find yours and how much. I found some from McCord Power Plate and they are around 200$ or so give or take. I want mine right before the mufflers since the car didn't mind running without the back half of the exhaust for a few weeks and DID mind running for a few secs with open headers. *drool* the sound.

I'm gonna run dual cutouts from quicktime performance, but its like $389 for the full kit with the switch. Where can I find info on the McCord Power Plate? Thanks!

I have the QTP electric cutouts and I didn't gain any power at all well maybe a 1 or 2 foot punds up on top.I placed them on the prochamber right behind the long tubes. They're fun to play with though, you freak a lot of people out because they don't know what's going on when your car starts rumbling like a dragster :rlaugh:

Is this becuase of the thread I made? :D

I am still debating on getting these, but I am willing to bet i'm going to lose major HP down low -- But then again I would only be doing it for the sound.

With electric cutouts, is there a switch in the car that you can press to open/close them on demand, weither the car is running or not? That would be ideal, I would have soooo much fun with it!

If you go on Kenne Bells websit and look under cars specs and then go to Mustang 2V tuner tips. They have researched exhaust and found the max gain on HP for <450rwhp was 10 HP withsome Busani catbacks and a x pipe, the said that exhaust really doesn't help our cars out all that much. Even removing the cats doesn't do that much. They said with the dual cats the backpressure was only 5psi. Header and free flowing exhaust will help whe you get to higher HP engines. Here is the link. They have a crap load of information pertaining to other mods and bolt ons. http://www.kennebell.net/techinfo/ford-techinfo/46gtTechTips.pdf

I love these websites, I learned a lot. :spot:

Could you have it so that you could start a race with them closed for the torque and then as you got up to speed open em up real fast and use it to your advantage?? I just dont know how well that would work seeing as youre only racing for say 13 seconds or so...

I tried this same thing over at Modular Depot. I thought it would be a great idea and a few of the guys over there had some feedback after they had tried it. Their times went up consistantly when the dumps were open. Didn't have any great explanation as to why, but the results didn't sound good.

I'm just doing it to scare people. I would LOVE to pull up next to an old lady who cut me off cruisin down the road, open up my cutouts and just floor it. Do you realize how scared she'd be? It's loud as sin when I do it now, I can't imagine 3x louder. OMG that would be insane.

Someone find a banging deal on cutouts with switches from inside the car to activate/deactivate them anytime you want. :flag:
