Declined a 2005 GT road test

Stopped at a ford Dealer yesterday on my way home to have a look at this 05 GT in the showroom. Cant tell it looked different from tons of photos i ve seen. Looked sharp and sat in it. They really made that car a lot more confortable than the 99-04 gen. Interior is awsome but it looked a bit like the F series trucks.
Than the saleman offered me a roadtest and i said: " I ll have to decline sir cause if i tried the SOB, i'll have to buy it and that , i dont want cause the SOB is too freaking expensive ( 37000$)"

Also, Ford should let you get that car with no wheels and tires, just on plain rims and skinnies, so you can get REAL wheels and TIRES. Damn, what did they think when they put 235-55-17 on that car :notnice:

lol..thats what i keep telling myself..dont go in and look at em or i'll end up with one.

I did today when i called my insurance co. asked what it would cost to insure one..full coverage, $1500. Not bad.. Damn, must stay away from dealers!

Pass by the local dealer ship to get a closer look at the new 05 mustang. While I was there the saleman asked if I would want to test drive it. Well I decided to take him up on that offer. I was able to test drive a fully loaded GT with the 1000 watt's shaker audio system which goes for 43K. I get in and so far I'm liking what I am seeing. I really like the two tone trim on the doors which is about 200$ extra. And the chorme on the dash. I even like that you have 125 color dash light display you can choose from. I'm even loving the seats I am in. Then again I'm use to seating in a mustang 92 seats that are wore out. So anything at this point seems to be better. I turn the key and the rumble begins. When I stepped on the gas you hear a peaceful sound coming from the engine streaming to have even more power. It has a nice pick up, feels get on the road. One thing got to me and that is. I find that the gear shift nob is a little to low for my liking. It should have been a little bit higher like 2-3". Besides that it's a nice car and ford did a good job :nice: I plan to get one in the spring. I first want to see what the convertables will look like up close. I heard the convertables are going to be out in the spring 2005.

I think there is no reason just to walk in a Dealership to test drive a new car that you don't want to buy just for the heck of it .

If you're a Mustang fan and you want a new one what is it gonna change if you try it or not

Unless you're dicing between 2 type of vehicule and you can't make up your mind .

I was looking at the new F150 and twice the salesman offered me to take it for a spin and I said no , I knew exactly what I wanted . 5.4L 4X4 Extracab and step side.

I did try my 2000 GT before buying it but the car was used so this is not the same .

Just my thought .

.

Exactly, that s why i didnt try it. Just wanted to have a look. But i guess that the salesman figured that if i went all the way into his garage to take a look at THE 05 stang, a roadtest would convince me to get it.
I might be to honest but i think that taking the car for a roadtest is wasting everybody s time considering i dont want to buy the car. :(

yup..stoped at looked at a Red 05 GT today. 34,754 i think was the sticker. Wow what a nice car! i found it actually looks smaller in person. Dunno..but wow was it nice! Sales guy tried to tell me it would look sharp in my driveway! lol oh yeah, i couldnt agree more! lol

Yeah... 235/55-17 tire's??? I don't understand that skinny size for a GT!

They talk about 18" wheel's available as a optional goodies and the 255... But I never saw it???

Yeh the optional 18's were are they! They are not even in the new 05 catalog book! Just the 17's are. :nonono:
