My main engine computer is defective on my 2004 Cobra and the dealer tells me FORD has none anywhere in the USA! NONE! and they don't know if they will ever have a replacement. What do I do? See if Steeda or Kenny Bell or whoever might have a replacement and buy it and have FORD PAY FOR IT? How the hell can a Car be one year old and FORD doens't have any replacement parts? Should I tell FORD to replace the CAR with on with ZERO miles on it?

Any suggestions and Ideas?

They're yankin' your chain man. Ford has to (by law) maintain a set amount of replacement parts for their vehicles for at least 10 years I believe. At least until the warranty runs out!!! I'm checking on all of this for you buddy!!!!

That's bulls#@t. So you have a new car that you cannot dirve because ford doesn't make the part anymore. I still can't believe it.

Knowing Ford, they probably dont want to sell any eec's because they think people will chip or flash them, then put their original computer back in when something goes wrong!

What is defective about it?

Also, aren't the computers the same, just with different programs in them?

I can also see Ford not selling the part because they don't want people building bogus Cobras from stolen parts either.

That has to be BS, ford still has pcms for even early 90s vehicles. The only thing I can think of is that the part may be back order for some reason. If your dealer diagnosed the problem as a bad pcm they should easily be able to get one for you. If not go to a dealership that actually knows what they are doing. I work at a dealership and I have never heard of a brand new car having a pcm that is now obsolete.
