Not that I'm a sheep, but this is what made me go trick flow. It was only like $300 more anyway

The heads were not deburred very well and you can see heavy machining marks on most of the surfaces, the as cast ports were not in line with the valvejob leaving large sharp steps on the seat ring, and they are assembled with un-concentric stamped steel locks I would be leary to run personally.

How much is it going to cost you to fix those problems?

Ok, I see your point, I am personally looking at taking a pair of cast steel heads from 1974, replacing every moving part, guide, seal and such, then porting them to make it more respectable than a honda.

At this point for my self and many others, the 300 difference to get these over my stock heads is already a stretch. I can tell you that if I tell my wife that I am spending 1300+ on a set of heads and heads alone, she would probally die right there. This is not to say she wears the pants, but thats a lot of jack.

These head are like they stated, apples to oranges when compared to trick flow or afrs but even the afr people say they are a GOOD CHEAP head. (remember the saying, cheap, fast, reliable--pick two). Seems you will get a good product for the price but they are by no means top of the line for quality or performance.

Dont go with thumpers, go aluminum, my gt40p's are lame. Save up some extra cash and get one of the big brands.

This sounds like the same chat that everyone had about the typhoon intakes. About how they are made in china and are crap and you should buy a edelbrock just save your money and buy it. Now everybody is using typhoons with no problems. Patriot basically did the samething they copied another design and went with it. They outsourced the castings and got the price down. I think they are worth a shot and are probably just as good just need alittle clean up work big deal. I heard the guy that owns patriot is a real stickler on port work and finished product. I'm going to get a set for my new motor.

I know the heads for the mod motors are great. Maybe with a bit of time the pushrod heads will be just as good in quality. The typhoon intakes have become much better since the first initial products.

I think those patriot heads tested by AFR heads were the ones before Patriot CNC'ed them. I mean it says as cast, but on the website and other links say they are CNC plus its says they are 185s but these are 190s

That's a pretty smokin deal guys!

I run the 165's myself but thats less than HALF of what I paid.
If my brother wasn't broke and I caught this earlier I'd be trying to get a set for his 88.

hanky GT sick sig!!!

grey why not just buy a explore motor complete, that would give you better heads intake unless you already have it then just sell off the parts you dont need, take the heads off it have them worked over a little bit and put them on your car...sell what parts you have left, win win for you!

I unblocked you just to see what you said here and it was exactly as I expected. I don't want P heads or any iron head, I had put those parameters out to begin with. Besides.... ****ING PATRIOT HEADS HELL YEAH.... Sorry Im still excited.

Dude I have been thinking all night at work how I'm going to pay for these, have it figured out and will be ordering with Gunnar on Tuesday (next paycheck). Will keep everyone posted on the details. Looks like Foxfan is ordering these as well and he lives about 20 min from me so we will have to compare how they both look.
