Hi, I called Diablo today, and they claim 20lbs tqe, and 12HP with their custom chip. We have a guy here who does the custom burn. based on your cars mods. My car is mildly modded, but I dont need gear calib. or anything like that. Just want to gain performance from the new fuel curve and timing aspects. What have others seen after having a CUSTOM BURN, not just a universal "pop in chip". Thanks!!!!!!

unless its an auto, i would see no real need for a chip, if u have very few mods. pretty much only real gain u would see would be if they bumped up timing. if u really want one though, i'd give ken @ modular depot an email, he can tell u what u could expect from one & prob save u some $. i got my sct chip from them & love it. btw, u can pm him, his user name is KenB.

What do you mean by "custom burn"? Basically, how it works is that Diablo has a website with several files on it for specific set-ups and computer codes - the dealer downloads a file for your car and burns it on a chip.

When you say custom burn two things come to mind:

1. They are going to burn several chips for your car/code, install each chip and run the car on a dyno each time to see what works best for your set-up.

2. You have several modifications to your car and they need to create a custom file for your application - this would mean additional $$$ - usually around $90 - $100 (not including chip).

Just trying to help and get a little clarification. Diablo does have new software they are releasing (if it isn't already) which is the revolution software - my understanding is it's designed for true dyno-tuning and allows the dealer to make changes to the tune on-site.

I have a Diablo sport chip in my GT. I did noticed a big difference in its performance. I have removed it several times to get it reburn for additional mods, and i miss it everytime. By the way how many guys can say they get 320 miles per tank on a daily driver. I only gun it when i have too

ya, the dealer who is selling you the chip can't actually make the tune. he can either select one off the diablosport site, or he can send them an email including your list of mods and they will email him back a tune specific to your mods.
