Well i Just received my Diablosport Predator today. I first installed the Diablo provided tune and tested it out. You could defn feel a difference in torque it seemed like it would just get up and go quicker. Im taking it to a Diablosport dealer tomorrow to a guy I know he's going to adjust some things for me. I love being able to hit it at 2k rpms and it will just pull like none other. I would like to know from all you guys that customized items such as fuel spark advance etc what you have set your cars to. Im running 92 octane and am pretty much stock except for mods in the signature. I just wanna get everything i can out of it but still have it be safe if any of you guys have input let me know but otherwise its a great investment, changed my speedo and all im a happy camper

Go read the Computer/EEC forum on ford-trucks.com. They're pretty big on Predators.

I installed the Performance Tune on mine. I haven't tweaked anything but the auto trans related stuff. I turned off the Torque Modulation for the 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shifts, and increase the Shift Pressure for the part throttle 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 shifts. I bumped up the Shift Pressure by one click on the Predator, which equates to 5 psi.

I've been reading about the EGR Switch, still trying to decide if I should turn it off.

I am curious, what happens when you turn the EGR off

I think what would happen if you "turn it off" via the predator is that you can block it off on your upper plenum and it won't cause a SES light.

Is anyone tuning w/their predator with a dyno? Any benefit if you wanna keep running 87 octane?

I wish I did had a predator.87 octane burns faster therefor you go faster
and 87 octane gas is cheaper.

You put 87 in yours? I only put 89 or 93 in mine. NEVER 87.

Yes, my owner's manual says always and only run 87, sometimes i'll put $10 of 91 in, but very rarely.

Can't get 93 here in No. Cal.

I would imagine that's only if you decided to advance your timing. Just using the tuner alone doesn't mean you have to run higher than 87 Octane.

When you install the performance tune from the preditor, i think you have to run 93 because it advances the timing enough to cause detonation. Is this right? That is what i have been told from everyone.

predator tune for 87-89 octane

Yes, you are right. When I installed my predator tune, I bumped the spark advance down -20. That way I can use 89 octane if I want. Supposedly -20 is good for 87 octane, but my car still pinged a little in the high RPM range. I need to increase my fuel by +5 too, because that might be part of my pinging problem since I have a C&L pipe. I think I have it at -25 spark advance in both ranges now. I am going to bump it back up to -20 and increase the fuel by +5 and see what happens.

I got this information from a tech at diablosport on the modularfords.com forum. They have a diablosport forum there. You can visit their forums here:
http://www.modularfords.com/forums/index.php

If you use the Factory HP tune on the predator, you do not have to worry about your gas unless you manually advance your timing.

thats why i said if you use their tune. if you decide to manually adjust you might not have to use higher octane

This is correct. Check the FAQ on DiabloSport.com. It covers this issue.
