i have a buddy who has a brand new, never been out of the box unit he is going to let me sell on ebay. he had heard some iffy reports that they can implant some kind of computer virus into the cpu so it went with another brand..if i buy it from him its only going to cost me $100.00..is it worth it to use or should i try sell it ( not much ) and roll the cash into some springs and headlights?


also, is that virus thing true?

the virus thing is BS. diablo would have sued long ago if this was true.

honestly, you wont get much over $100 for it. i dont know of anyone who is still tuning with them. most go with SCT b/c it offers more options

Thanks for the reply..given the modest mods ive got, what kind of gain hp/tq do you estimate id be looking at if i bought it? 10/10?

It's definitely worth $100.

Haven't heard of any virus issues, but a few times (not just Diablosport) a tuner can lock up, or crash and cause the computer to fry. It's VERY rare, but has happened.

I gained 6.9hp and 13lbft at the wheels by making minor fuel and timing adjustments, dyno verified.

What year Cobra's is it for?

It won't work if it's for 03/04 Cobras, but if will work if it's for other Cobras. I am using a Predator that was originally used on a Mach-1. A U-7146 Predator will work on any 96-04 V6, GT, Mach, or Cobra excluding the 03/04 Cobra.
