it had a regular dude who bought a ford gt, and a reg dude who bought a viper. both 05's. the show was on a&e it was called american muscle ? )i think) anyhow they put both guys on the track 1/4 mile. one guy in the viper had never even been to the track. the ford gt owner had run twice in his liftime (he was in his 50's) best of 3. first race they both spun like a mother, and the ford won 12.4 to the viper 14.6. the second race the ford guy missed 2nd ford 12.9 viper 12.6 the 3rd race ford 12.5 viper 12.9....it was pretty cool to see 2 normal everyday guys run those cars....not some guy from car and driver.....
The guy with the viper was probably a doctor or something, he was all tuning his car with a computer tuner before the race but it doesn't make up for having a decent driver. They said the GT guy owned two Ford dealerships but he didn't seem like he knew too much about cars, just selling them I guess. Would have been interesting to see who would win with professional drivers.
