the money has been transferred to my bank account. 
of course, right on cue, my son (who is in college) fell off his bike with his laptop in his backpack and landed on his back, killing the laptop. so there goes $1200 of it right off the top. at least he is OK.
and now my wife is talking about re-grading the back yard. that will take probably another couple grand.

You can pick up laptops dirt cheap all day long on ebay. I know a guy selling a Dell e6400 for $350 if you're interested.

the problem is that he is into this electronic music thing, so he needs one with good sound capabilities. so we got him a dr dre laptop with beats audio.

I'm mean though. I'd give him a $399 laptop from Best Buy and tell him to learn to be more careful. 
i was going to do that, but the wife overrode me. she did agree that if it hapened again though, she will support my approach
