Today I was bored, so I made an IAC restrictor plate.. the car comes down much quicker when I let off the gas, and it idles lower as well

I also made a "boot leg ram air setup" lol

I was in my garage and i had a duct in there, so I put one end in the hole in my bumper next to the fog light, and ran the other end up the fender well by my intake!

I also have an SCT Eliminator chip on the way!

let the :flame: begin!

Kyle, let's make a cover for that hole in the bumper, and make some back to back runs at the track and see what the MPH is. It's worth a shot. Ram air's generally have not been that sucessful on these cars, but it is worth a shot

we should, just to see what she runs..

we dont have to make a cover, we can just push it back in the fender so it's not point at the intake anymore

I can't wait til i get that chip in there, it's gonna come with a "street" tune a "performance" tune and a "race" tune :banana:

Not tuned properly for 'forced induction'. Intriguing idea with the ram air setup

I thought about that too, but a leaf blower in the lower foglight opening doesn't exactly qualify as "forced induction". Its not like he had the blower blowing into the intake tube, he had it blowing into that ducting....which then blows against the filter. I doubt you'd see even 1psi in "boost".

the cold air kit grabs air from your fender so its cooler. By putting that pipe there you are just forcing everything from dirt to water in your intake. Your not the first human to ever think of this. If it did anything there would a million kits on ebay doing this

That's make-shift ram air kit is pretty cool haha. But I doubt it'll really do anything. Plus, what KT said: It's blocking the hole from cooling your brakes. But hey, I know what it's like to want to just DO SOMETHING to your car for the fun of it. Pretty cool idea.

Not tuned properly for 'forced induction'. Intriguing idea with the ram air setup, but won't blocking off the IAC have a negative effect?

The only way it really has a negative effect would be on a car like mine, where you have 4.10's and cams. I make most of my power at 3000+ RPM's. The "hanging" RPM's in stock form keep me in that range when I'm shifting. With this mod, the RPM's drop below this range when I shift, and the engine has to climb back up into the "sweet" spot, thus, actually slowing me down a little during "spirited" driving. This could be fixed by me just giving it gas through the shift to keep the RPM's up, but that's extra work and I'm lazy :)

no mine didnt even have a iac until yesterday, but i have 5 throttle body's to play with, i opened up the hole in the blade up a little, it drove like a fox really, i really like how it drives like that , but cold start ups, you would have to keep on the gas slightly until warm up..
