no, it's a very common mod, it just makes the hole smaller so the rpms drop quicker when you let off the gas

Makes sense. What's the benefit though?

we should, just to see what she runs..

we dont have to make a cover, we can just push it back in the fender so it's not point at the intake anymore

I can't wait til i get that chip in there, it's gonna come with a "street" tune a "performance" tune and a "race" tune

is that the chip that you put the dial in where the change holder is... you can program i think 9 or 10 tunes in it? if so... that's what my car came with. I have NO idea what tunes mine has... please explain more about your 'street' 'performance' and 'race' tune and how they differ from each other... i could see with forced induction different boost/ air/fuel ratio settings but with a NA motor i dont know what the difference would be. AM said it would be $50 to send them my chip and have them program it for my car with my mod's. also do you know if that chip can be programed for the speedo correction for 4.10's?

to be honest with you, I don't know much about the tunes.. They just said they would get more aggressive as you get higher up there.. and yes it can be programmed to correct the speedo

cool! then i'll wait to get mine reprogramed when i get some 4.10's. if anyone else knows about those tunes jump in a let me know . you'll be very happy if your tune is like mine at all.. it pulls HARD. i have close to the same mod's you have minus the gears and throttle body. i rode in a stang without the tune/coldair/xpipe but he had 4.10's.. and my car with stock gears felt just as if not a little bit quicker then his. he had better 5th gear pull but from 0-80 it would be close. tune makes a huge difference!

5th gear is not a gear to pull in. 4th gear is a 1.00 gear.

Tunes do not make a big difference on a bolt on 5 speed car. You get the advance in timing, which will add a few HP and really pick the car up down low, but that is easily done with a TA. Auto's, may be different with how the car shifts.

, He seems to be a more experienced mustang owner, dosn't care for things that are uneccesary.
The only thing that I can see the tube doing is just clearing out any hotter air from the engine. Thats not really Ram air w/any gain if there are any leakes, maybe. Don't know if the Mach has any leaks but, from a visual inspection, its directly connect to the air box.
Cool though, thought about that mod when I was in Lowes.
