Did The Intake. . . Motor Is Now Fu@%$. . .

When you have knocking noises concurrent with a loss in oil pressure, there's something serious wrong. It's highly improbable that it's a loose rocker and a failed oil filter at the same time. I'm not saying you need a full rebuild. I'm saying you're going to need one if you don't get to the bottom of it. See pictures above. It sounds like a spun bearing to me. If it's a bearing issue, it might be as simple as changing that one bearing.

As I understand, our oil pressure sensor is an idiot gauge. When oil pressure reads within a certain range, the oil sensor sends the same signal back - keeping the gauge steady. When pressure drops below a certain point, the sensor reports NO pressure.

Lazy_stang, the point is: you can possibly save your motor by removing it and finding out the problem. The longer you wait, the more parts will break and the more expensive it will be. Unfortunately, Chem_889's experience is not unique. Trust our experience and get your engine checked out NOW.

last night i was looking under the hood at the pulley diagram on the fan shroud plastic and noticed that how the belt is routed now is making the water pump spin backwards. . . but i didnt notice it over heating when i took it on a 10 min run down the highway. . . but it may have, maybe thats why it started hard, maybe it was really hot. . . i dont this this would screw the rod bearing if it did heat up though? but its not spark knocking anymore. . .

I don't see any comments on this.... ..so did you route the belt correctly yet?

no i didnt, i was hoping the guy that did the work for me would wanna see it lol. . . fat chance of that, i will route it correctley later, kinda put it on hold for a couple weeks. I am not driving it, just drivin the old winter beater
