Did you get your 30,000 mile checkup?

I learned from experience that if it's on a checklist to be replaced at one of the "regular" checks, it's best to keep the receipts, even for something as stupid as an air filter. They can screw with your warantee if they want to be bastards about it. If you can't prove that you did something that "might" have prevented a problem, you're gonna pay out the nose for it.

Fortunately, the dealership here is really good about service issues. Never had a single problem with them (Probably just like my family's business - 7 cars in the last 5 years...poor Explorer...).

Im about halfway to the 30000 mark, but Ive already started to wonder about this. Is there anywhere else besides Jiffy Lube I could take my car lol, cant say I really trust ol Jiffy Lube to do much besides mess up cars.
Jiffy Lube drains the oil all over the suspension then pours oil on the top of the engine until the oil pan is full. They freakin get oil everywhere and don't know how to wipe any of it up. :nonono:  Never again.

when I was going to do 30000mile check(for the worrenty reason) at the dealer ship, I think they told me something like 550bucks for everything. As everyone would(and I sertainly hope everyone does the same), I told them to stick it where sun don't shine.
I had my shop do tranny fluid and rear end fluid change(didn't have suitable working place then) for just over 100 bucks, and did the drive belt by myself(50bucks for the belt I think). Clean up the terminal(whoppieee took all 2min)
topped off all fluid(didn't need any. and for 30000miles, you really should't need any) slam bottle of fuel injector cleaner(few bucks).
Just replaced spring, and hock few weeks befor that, so i looked over everything make sure nothing was loose, tire was brandnew(as I replaced wheel and tire same time I did spring.

See, i did almost everything they would do for far far FAR less then what they would charged me. cost me all less then 170 bucks, and few can of good'ol Milwakee's best and few hours of my time.

I would like to do sparkplug change and fuel filter change sometime soon tho if i can. that is only thing that they do that I do not like to do it myself...

The only thing that you could possibly need a "professional" for at 30,000 miles is the fuel filter changed (because it's quite a project).

Why any of you would ever take your car to Jiffy Lube could be another thread entirely...
