Hello all, having a issue where the car will loose spark while running. If I cycle the key off then back on it will start and run. Bought a motorcraft tfi module and it does the same thing. Could it be the pick up inside the distributor?? Thanks

Unless they outright say it’s stock or provide a list of what all has been done (from an air filter to a stroked and boosted application) I’ve given up guessing.

?? Ok, edelbrock rpm intake, edelbrock heads, custom ground cam, 60lbs injectors, msd 6al, stock coil, 14lb procharger. The ecu isn't showing anything abnormal before the motor dies. I didn't think any of the above was relevant to the spark issue. Thanks

Many of us recently participated in a thread to help diagnose an issue for another member. 6 pages into diagnostic efforts and 85+ posts later, it is revealed that some off-the-shelf "chip" is being used. It was even swapped from a suspected bad ECU to a suspected good ECU without mention, during troubleshooting.

Not a huge deal but some of these guys actually put in real [work] to help folks out and that was def a  moment. LoL

Sounds like a lot of bad TFI modules going around recently.

At [least] 10 years. Probably more.

I dunno what they're doing different but they all pretty much suck, even if it says "Motorcraft" on it.

I for one, would like to fill a pillow case with them and beat the manufacturer around the head and ears with it.
