Diff between 99-04 and 05+ TR-3650?

My stock TR-3650 is grinding at high rpm's into 3rd gear. I guess I killed it after 130k miles so I'm looking for a replacement.

Does anyone know if I can use a 05+ TR-3650 transmission in my 2002? I know the shifter is different but can I swap them out? I see some 05+ on ebay for a good price.

If anyone knows where I can get one for a good price, please let me know.

All I know is that the gearing is the same, if that makes you feel any better.

I believe the tailshaft housing is different, you would need to swap that out. Otherwise, it's identical?

Remote shifter and hydralic TOB in the newer trans.

I beleive the tailhousing needs to be swapped out, not sure if the bellhousing does as well?
