Diff. question

Yes you can remove it. Mine literally was hanging on by 1 bolt and slamming into the car so I yanked it before it fell off and hurt someone or damaged my or another persons car.

It supposed to balance harmonics but go look and see how many other cars on the road are using that.

damn man u need a better tuner... im makin 242 rwhp with a dyno tune on 87 and o/r x, magapack catback, and k&n filter, butu got me on tq i got 264

My numbers are through an auto...also, remember that I have a catted X and I'm still running the stock catback. As for the dyno run itself, I "hot-lapped" my car, and in the excitement I forgot to use the dyno fan at the shop, so I'm definitely making more power than the numbers would suggest. At the dyno, I wasn't as concerned with my numbers themselves as I was with tuning my car, which is what a dyno is truly for. I got it to the point where my AFR was pretty much perfect on my last run. My car pulls considerably harder now, and thats what I was going for.

One last thing about the dyno; my torque is undoubtedly higher than 280 because I had to start my runs at 4250 rpm to keep from downshifting, and 4250 is my torque peak on the dyno graph :)

As for the question of whether to remove that "dogbone" thing, just because other cars don't have it doesn't mean ours don't need it. Why would Ford bother putting something that heavy back there if it wasn't necessary?

Well i know some people take it off and dont take a 2nd thought about it. While others say it needs to say on..
Now for my .02 i am kinda pulled in the middle, just like you are MustangMan00.

My best friend has a 98gt and has his off.. his car is just fine, but i was told that it was more for noise and the travel of the diff while on the road. Thus the heavy weight to pull the diff down while driving over bumps in the road or something..

Less weight (bolts) = more power!!!!:rlaugh:
jk I could be 100% wrong on this, but i would like to see more posts
