when i was buying my heads yesterday i was given two different prices, the OEM head was like double the price of the Ford Racing PI head, but i was told they are basically the same head. seems funny that there was such a drastic cost difference, btw part of the increased cost was a core charge when buying OEM heads. i kept saying, so they are the same head but you cant call a PI head OEM ? and they would say..."well, yeah they are the same...um..."they didnt really have a good answer.

thats the way Ford is. the Frpp head is the same head as genuine FoMoCo but FoMoCo sells there product to Frpp cheaper than the PDC's and dealerships. one less set of hands and packager to go thru. this has been a problem for years how Ford & Frpp keep cutting the dealerships out of the loop and now they(Ford) are adding core charges to everything. so your safe wth the Frpp "PI" heads.

If the prices you were quoted were for the complete heads, they are indentical. Just be sure that price includes the cams, etc. as there are part numbers for bare heads too.
