I am converting my four Cylinder notchback to a v8 and was told I need to put a v8 cluster in it. What noticeable differences can u look for to tell if it is a v8 cluster
The tachometer is the first giveaway. 4 cyl will read to 6K, while the v8 tach goes to 7k. I believe there are pots on the back to switch between 4-6-8 cyl engines, but why would you want to.
Other than that, they are the same. All 87-93 4-cyls got the 85MPH speedo, while mid-89+ v8's got the 140MPH speedo. Pretty much exactly the same other than the tach and what speedo comes with them
