). I've had my share of track days where 14.0 was all my GT could muster up.sjrtx said:ok-not going to say this is perfectly right, but straight from the ford racing catalog (2004) Page 42: The description for the "cast 4.6L crankshaft" (new) says (word for word):
M-6303-c46**
>New current production Romeo 4.6L SOHC 2V cast iron crankshaft
>Great for low cost engine builds.
>4.6L engines may have 6- or 8-bolts to attach to the crankshaft. Check the engine code before ordering. Romeo built engines have 6-bolts and Windsor built engines have 8-bolts.
All Cobra engines have 8-bolts. The 8th character in the VIN is (X) for Windsor engine plant or (W) for Romeo engine plant.
Again on page 116 in the catalog, the manual transmission flywheel section it again states in subnotes at the bottom left corner:
(2) 4.6L engines may have 6- or 8- bolts to attach to the crankshaft. Check the engine code before ordering. Romeo built engines have 6-bolts and Windsor engines have 8-bolts. All Cobra engines have 8-bolts.

I have a few others at home... but I haven't converted them to digital yet.
Every GT has potential for a 13.7 if the conditions are right (and you are willing to beat it to a pulp). I've had my share of track days where 14.0 was all my GT could muster up.
It sucks. ...until you realize, your car can only do so much with heat and humidity.
W is the code for the engine thats on the Grand Marquees (not sure what other car its on)gnat said:interesting, my 03 has an X... any confirmation on this or anyone callin???
