I am concluding that all mustangs aren't built equally from the factory because i was chatting with a friend that has the same car as me]ine but his car takes 5.5qtz of oil while mine, and my best friends takes 6.5-6.7qtz of oil? Mind you that they both real full at the dipstick line. 96-98 GT's.

I believe it varies from the 96-98s and from the 99 to 01s and 01s to 04s

it could also be when you are changing your oil. if you let you car sit for a while before you change the oil you will get more out of it. also some oil filters for out cars vary in size.

My car holds 6 quarts, my manual even states that amount. I change oil at my job on all kinds of cars. i get alot of 4.6 motors, mostly in vics, i know the NPI motors usually hold 5.5qts and the PI motors hold 6qts. If anyone wants to know, i have a book at work that list what each car holds, its at work i'll look through the 99-04 4.6 years tom. Also fords take a little bit for the oil to run down, after i start the car (to look for leaks aka double gasketed filters)and shut it off before i check the oil, i remove the cap and pull up on the stick so i get air pressure to help the oil run down, after 30 seconds i check the oil.

I was using 6 qts of mobile 1 5w30. Now with the blower, Tim recommends valvoline 5w30 conventional. For some reason, It now takes 6.5 qts to fill up.... must have something to do with the blower..
