Dig the mechanics in this 67 Eleanor.

I'm really tired of these ugly not so original concept Eleanor clones. Not only is it getting old and boring but these people are destroying 67/68 FBs at an alarming rate and driving up the cost of unrestored cars.

I think it's a beautiful car, and it's hardly less original than anything the factory made. Ok well maybe there are a couple things Ford made that are more original, but nobody's going to cut them. :D It's not like this shop is building 10,000 of them per year.

I respect anyone's opinion, but lack of originality is just not a valid criticism. It's like painting your car red (yawn).

..so you really think it's ugly?

Yeah...I think it is ugly. Eleanors are kind of like rice meets the Mustang.
 yeah Rons never been an avid Eleanor fan .Thats cool , but I disagree with the rice thing. Theres nothing ricey about Eleanor. The mods are too tasteful. I agree with you Hack , I just think the thing is absolutely gorgeous.

I think that eleanor is one of the best looking cars ever designed. I always thought the original gt-350 and gt-500's looked great, but they just improved upon the look with the additional body peices. And I'm sure the side exhaust is loud as hell.

And the whole originality thing is kinda hipocrytical. Tons of people restore there cars to number matching factory specs, thats hardly being original but that doesn't seem to stop em.

And as it is, a persons car is there own personal peice of property, let em do what they want to it. You don't have to like it, but trashing it is kinda lame when some of these guys put thousands of hours, blood, sweat and tears into these long restoration projects.

And who cares if they are useing fastbacks to do em. You should be happy that people are going to junk yards and salvageing tons of 67/68 fastbacks that would have otherwise gotten destroyed. Now someone eleanorizeing a originall gt-350/500, thats a whole different story.

I'm just not a fan of body kits, that is all. To me they scream rice. I agree it is a beautiful car on one hand...but I don't like Eleanor clones to me the whole idea is ugly.
I couldnt agree more, everything on the car is awesome except the fiberglass. Something about the mix of new ricer with muscle car doesnt mix but everything else is super nice.

That is my exact point.....great car ruined with ricer body cladding that adds nothing to the functionality of the vehicle.

Guess it's difference of opinion then, because I always considered rice cars to be front wheel driven, imported, 4 cylinder fart cannons.

And fiberglass is a great option for alot of street/strip cars, probebly the easiest way to cut down on your cars weight is to go with a fiberglass hood/trunk lid and possibly front bumper/valence peices. I have nothing against fiberglass. Not everyone wants a 4,000 lb car rumbling down the street.

Otherwise you could harass everyone who uses a non-original non-factory aluminum intake manifold, or everyone with aftermarket aluminum heads, or aluminum radiators. I mean were do you draw the line? I don't know why so many mustang fans hate on each other, save that unadulterated hate for things like generic motors, or mopars, or hondas ect...

Im talking about fiberglass as in the aftermarket body effects. I have nothing aginst figerglass, i have a 67 fiberglass shelby hood, love the "R" front aprons. If the elenore kit was sheet metal i would not like it all the same. Fiberglass in general is allgood.

I don't think it is rice.....after all Eleanor was designed by Chip Foose. It may be getting stale, but when you see one in person they still look great. I'm more into seeing a stock body car with 16 or 17 inch wheels and big brakes with cool seats/interior work that is driven. That is what I'm building 67 meets fox body.

Wow, I didn't know that! Chip has a new show on Discovery or TLC I forget, but it's called OverHaulin. They steal someones car, totally rebuilt it from the ground up, and give it back to em.

It's a really cool show, and they mostly work on old cars like El Caminos, Camaros, Old Fords, ect... He's the brainchild of the show.
