Right, rip off the insurance company because Ford won't do the right thing. Take the dealer to small claims court. And remember to tell the rat bastard of a dealer how much you time you will spending in front of his dealership telling all that go in what a great guy he is and how his service is superior.

If the paint job was factory defective Ford shoud pay for a paint job,
otherwise this is a good reason to get a Custom Paint Job of your own
specifications......

Looks like a combination of both ...some of the chips are on a slight angle like rocks and debris coming off the tire but it doesn't explain all of it.. The rest looks like the start of the paint delaminating.. Regardless sorry to hear that.. Hopefully you get some help from ford or the dealer..good luck

That is NOT normal. I have a 2008 with 35555 miles on it and with the exception of a few front bumper/hood chips the paint is solid. It must be a bad batch from Ford. I once had a 95 Nissan that had the most durable paint ever. I drove it for 10 years and it didn't have a chip, no shine whatsoever, but not a chip. Sold it and bought a 2005 Nissan. After 2 years the paint had a million chips and scratches.
Good luck with Ford but since it's out of warranty you might as well go see a paint shop.

Yeah, I don't think they will do anything. I'll still try. It really makes me not want to buy another Ford product though, I can understand a problem happening, but if they would only take care of it then I wouldn't care at all.

I messaged Ford customer service on this website with this thread link and they won't do a thing. I won't be buying any new Fords that's for sure. They should have backed me when I originally called and told them about the paint and the suspension.

The bottom line, IMO, is that it indeed was defective paint from the factory. The bad news is you waited 3 years to get serious about getting it fixed. Should have fought with them earlier my friend.

I took it back to the dealer and called Ford within the first year of ownership. I think it was actually 6 months, but I don't really remember. They wouldn't do anything about it then either.

I think the only way to get them to do anything is to take them to court and that's just to much hassle. Thanks for all the help though guys.

I've thought of that, but I doubt a dealer would trade me straight across.

Funny thing is I know all the big wigs at Ford have meetings and talk about how they can sell more cars. They have lost a lot of business because they simply won't take care of their customers. This is their mistake and they just leave me to deal with it. I work in manufacturing, so I personally know that mistakes happen with product. Every time we have a problem and it gets to the customer, we make it right. At least try to. I'm not mad that my paint sucks, I'm mad because Ford won't do their part and fix it.
