what is the best and cheapest method to clean yellow/discolored headlights shrt of buying new ones? Will sanding and polishing do the job?

Sanding and polishing will do the job. There's a tutorial on this board somewhere...

I have a customer who called me back to say how nice his headlights came out.

You can try the Meguiars PlastX by hand, it should work just as well.
Once they are clear again and scratch free, be sure and wax them.
Most auotparts stores carry PlastX. Wally World might have some too.
He used Meguirs PlastX with the PC7424 and our lake country polishing pads.

do they only discolor on the outside or on the inside as well. I used a homemade recipe to clean my lights and it took some off but it looks as though the rest is on the inside.
