Dissapointing dumps

well i just finished taking the tailpipes of my car and welding on dump tips. Now my car has lost that cool raspy sound and it sounds all deep and choppy. If i weld my tailpipes back on but cut them off before they reach the axel wont that take away some of the drone AND give me that raspy sound back? I'm running shorty headers and an o/r/h with flows. What mufflers would sound better than flowmasters dumped off?

Umm...don't your dumps just about reach the exhaust anyways? You're talking about 6-8 inches of pipe difference....i don't think it's going to make much difference. Also if you're worried about drone, dumps are just going to amplify it.

Just removed my dumps when my O/R H-pipe was installed. Had tailpipes put back on. It has that raspy sound now and I like it. Dumps were to agrevating with the windows up.

I love my dumps! IMO, dumps sound better with an O/R X-pipe.
