Has anyone ever opened up a tweecer? I'm curious if it could be cloned or if someone could build a diy version. i.e. you have two cars and only one tweecer.

If you are looking into using a tweecer on multiple vehicles, then there are other ways.
Check out Moates.net
They have some hardware and software that will allow you to burn your custom .bin file to a J3 chip, which can stay on the ecu.
