I love that flowmaster tone and Ive been considering an American Thunder cat-back (on my soon to arrive 4.6) but I always hear people complaining about the drone and how it's unbearable etc.. is it really THAT bad? I drove a stang with the A/T mufflers (not full c/b) and the drone wasn't bad at all, i've also driven one with an o/r x-pipe (which is supposed to be really loud right??) and i didn't find the drone all that bad. Second part of my question, would dynamat help? Where would be the best place to put it in order to eliminate interior exhaust noise?

No its not THAT bad. Most people blow it out of proportion IMO. But of course its all a matter of opinion. I happen to like the drone with mine... a negative thought doesn't cross my mind about it.

As for where to dynomat. The trunk would be a good place to start, then the backseat under the seats probably.

But why would you want to dynomat!? :D

They dont drone as much as some people say. My 1 chamber flowmasters are really loud and dont drone all that bad. They are the loudest mufflers made by flowmaster. I believe it drones more in a standard rather than an automatic.

No they dont drone that much. I love the sound of mine. There is a slight drone at 2100 for me but it doesnt bother me at all. Hell, when im at that rpm, i try to stay there cause i love listening to it so much. :nice:

You my friend need to go with the 1 chamber route. You will love every moment of them. When I get my tax money Im buying a prochamber than it will be alot louder than what I have right now. :hail2:

Drone is NOT bad at all. In fact, I think my stang with UPR o/r X-pipe and 2 chamber flows sounds too quiet. The "drone" is just a deep mellow tone that occurs from ~2000-2200rpm. It sounds deep and pronounced, but not invasive. You will easily get used to it. I love it, and wish my exhaust was louder. Hard to believe its not as loud as I thought it would be even though its catless.
