I have 1 chamber Flows, and I love 'em. The most significant drone is around 2000 to 2200 rpm's. I'm like some of the guys in previous posts.......I find myself driving in this range because it attracts attention for blocks. I had my brother drive by me in 3rd gear running in this rpm range one day while I was in my front yard, and it sounded down right SCARY awesome to me...I love it !! The exhaust sounds nothing on the inside like it does outside.

Drone is sweet. It's nothing like having a naging person in your ears constantly. It's like an ear orgasm. All mufflers drone at some point in rpm's. Some are just more pronounced then others or more tolerable if you will. It's been a long time but I even remember the stock mufflers would drone a bit.

It is all a form of taste. I don't like the drone anymore. My big thing with flowmasters is they cost you power over other catbacks. people spend $300-400 for 5hp. why cost yourself the power. flows sound good but so do other mufflers. I like flows with huge cams. with a stock engine though they are not my fav. I really like the sound of chambered mufflers with lots of lope.

If you just like listening to engine noise all the time you won't mind it. I really loved flow until I tried some other brands.

They were great for a couple of years now with the o/r h and the conv. top it is a little too much. Still sounds awesome but not good for long trips.

they are awesome get them now! Get the 40 series. dont get the delta force. they are too quiet. I have owned two mustang gt's both of them had flowmasters 40 series welded into stock pipes. I would not even consider another muffler.

Like others said, it will drone on you at highway speeds, they dont have the nickname Dronemaster for no reason.
I had a set, they sounded good, but your not going to want to drive your car if your hungover or have a headache, its like a dull knife getting pushed into your skull.
I personally like the Magna sound better, but they drone also.

I have an American Thunder Cat back on my GT. The drone is around 2000-2200 rpm. It doesn't bother me at all. You can always go faster or slower if you don't like the "drone zone."

I love that flowmaster tone and Ive been considering an American Thunder cat-back (on my soon to arrive 4.6) but I always hear people complaining about the drone and how it's unbearable etc.. is it really THAT bad? I drove a stang with the A/T mufflers (not full c/b) and the drone wasn't bad at all, i've also driven one with an o/r x-pipe (which is supposed to be really loud right??) and i didn't find the drone all that bad. Second part of my question, would dynamat help? Where would be the best place to put it in order to eliminate interior exhaust noise?

Dude, I'll tell you one thing, I didn't buy my car and Flow's because I wanted a muted Lincoln Towncar...the drone is not that bad anyway.
