do i have an aftermarket tranny?

when i was changing the clutch last week i noticed my tranny says tremec on it. im pretty sure ours are borg-warner but i was told tremec bought borg-warner at some point. the numbers on it are C2605803. i googled this and it brought up results for several different tremecs. is there any way to tell what kind i have with it now on the car?

call tremec and give them that part #. They shoul be able to tell you what it is.

There should be a tag with the trans ID on it.
