Do I need a new cam/injectors/TB/MAF?

I have a ported stock lower on the way as well as some ported E7's. Will it be beneficial to get a new cam? If so, would the B or E cam work well? Also, would it be beneficial to run a bigger TB/MAF/injectors with this combo? Or am I jsut as well off using the stockers with the fuel pressure up a bit?

Of course it would benifit. I would say the MAF and TB would definatly make an improvment. As far as the Cam and fuel system, as long as they are clean and working right they wouldn't be as bennificial.

I ran my setup with the stock fuel system and cam for a while. Your fuel system should be fine. Get it dynoed and have the fuel air checked, as long as you don't start running lean you should be fine. I now have the B cam, which makes power in the upper rpm's but I lost a lot of drivability and really don't like it much. The B cam is a good cam, but a rough cam, rougher than the power it makes.

Who's doing the porting on the intake and heads? Thumper/Tmoss???

I'm running a simalar combo, the 65mm is sweet, I am planning on going the same route with the cam but I am going with an e-cam. Then I have to get a bigger intake, mines ported but still. The stock injectors are good till 306 horse, so I'm going to run them with a higher fuel press.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was thinking a 70mm+ MAF and a bigger TB would likely work out. Glad I can keep my stock injectors and cam though, its always nice to save a few beans as a student The car is a daily driver, so it'll be ncie to keep the bottom end.

I'm not getting a tmoss intake. I was going to but I found one on ebay that I'm gonna give a try. Heres the link

As far as heads go, I'll either go with a local guy or Thumper. Being in Canada, the exchange might make it worthwhile to stay local.

That is a port match, not a completely ported runner. Price was right though, so give it a spin.

Is there any benefit to porting out the upper at all?

I'd give tomm the money to get one of his ported lowers first...a port matched lower won't do squat IMO.

The only "porting" that is effective (short of cutting, porting and welding) is gasket matching the upper and lower intakes and opening the 63mm TB hole to 65mm (remove 1mm from the circle edge) and use a 65mm TB AND (very important) a 65mm EGR spacer if your using one.

The gasket match on the bottom of the upper seems straight forward, but whats the best way to open up the TB hole without going too far? Also, how deep would you go with the porting? Would I be able to do that with my dremel and a grinding bit?

The TB hole is the easiest to do, just mark a 1mm line from the edge of the stock hole and open it up with a bit or stone. The intake runners are best ported by varying the depth of the porting. On the "long" side you don't go very deep - just enough to straighten the wal once youi open it to the new dimension. On the "short side" you need tolay back and starighten the wall where it extends farther into the runner at the top than the bottom. You also want to make the bend on that side longer and more gradual. Think about waht I'm saying while looking up a runner. If it doesn't make much sense to you, best leave it to someone else.
