Broken Arrow, OK
Going with a V2-SQ Kit soon. Should I get a MSD ing. box? Is it safe to run without it? Anything else I might need to get to keep the boost safe. I plan on getting Cooler plugs...Not sure which ones. (Suggestions) Anyhting else a I might need to know. I currently do not have my smog setup working, will this affect anything?

You don't need one. It's up to you. It would produce a stronger spark which would deter spark blow out. Go two steps colder on the plugs. I can't offer a suggestion as to which ones because I am not familar with GT-40's. I would stay with autolites however. Make sure you have fuel! You might want to think about getting away from those 24# injectors, and go with at least 36#. Not having a smog pump won't affect anything except your belt routing. You will need to put your smog pump back if you removed it, or run a dummy pulley.

The stock ignition system is pretty stout. Depending on how much boost you're running it might be wise to upgrade but not a necessity. The main reason i'd upgrade would be for the aftermarket rev limiter. The stock one cuts fuel and the aftermarket cuts spark. With high boost situations its not the greatest situation to have fuel cuttin out at high rpm. Also, i'd go with Crane over MSD since they come with a rev limiter even on teh base model and its adjustable in 100 rpm increments via dial.

Your 24lb. injectors will work fine with 8-10 lbs of boost if you need to wait on bigger injectors, otherwise if $$ isn't a concern, go ahead and get at least 36lb ones. I'd say Crane over MSD any day of the week.
BTW, how's the rear axle situation?

Rear end situation still really sucks!!!! I need to find a Rear End used. OK just doesnt seem to have a decent junkyard with stangs, or I cant find them. I think I will take my searches to the Dallas Area. Anyone know where to get a used rear end in the midwest??? I def. have to replace. I am thinking of getting new control arms to handle the new power I am adding. What are some good options?

I think I will stay with my 24# and injectors and may move up to 36# and a good tune in the near future. If I use a FMU will I need a Tune? I have got to sort this rear axle thing out first. It might get expensive.

42's for a 331 w. boost. The rule of thumb is go with 42's because they give you room to grow, but they do require a tune.

24's with an FMU wont require a tune as much as 42's would, but you'll end up being rich up top. Its better than being lean, but it'll run better with a tune.

I'm running the stock ignition on my twin turbo 5.0. I fried my msd, so I really didn’t have a choice. As far as the plugs go, just run some autolite 103's gapped at .028-.030. They are one heat range cooler (the only one autolite makes besides stock), and the smaller gap will ensure you wont have spark blowout. You may be able to get away with a slightly wider gap, depending on how much boost your running.
