Do MAF and injectors have to match?

I am about to put some Victor Jr. heads on my '95 Stang. I am thinking replacing my stock 19 lbs. injectors with 36 lbs ones (I hope to turbo someday).

I have just been told that I could upgrade my injectors without upgrading the MAF. I just would not see the benefit until I upgrade the MAF. Is this true?
Can I use a 19 lbs MAF with 36 lbs injectors or will the car start running like bad?

I was alway's told that the Injectors had to match the MAF calibration becuase of the pulse / dwell cycles.

Say a 19# injector is open for 0.05 seconds and then a 36# injector is open for the same amount of time. The 36# injector will dump more gasoline and cause your motor to run rich...

Just what I was taught....

Agreed. The MAF has to be cal'd for the injectors. You should be able to accomplish this with a TwEECer if you have one.

Thanks guys. I guess I could send my Pro-M off to get recalibrated. I just didn't want to take on that additional time or expense. Maybe I'll just wait until I a turbo kit.

However, that does bring up another question. I already have a E303 cam, 70 mm throttle body, pulleys, cold air kit, and a custom chip.
Next month I am installing Victor Jr. Heads, Performer RPM intake, JBA headers, and Magnaflow X-pipe w/cat. ()

Would I need larger injectors for the combo or will 19 lb. work?
