STOCK vs STOCK do speed density cars run a little bit stronger then mass air cars also how well do they respond to minor bolt on such as larger TB,pulleys, upper and lower intake compared to mass air???????? also do speed density run a little hotter???
speed density cars do tend to be a bit stronger in stock form than mass air cars. minor bolt on's have the same effect, but they go haywire with any major airflow increase like heads, cam or intake.
there is no major difference. its cheap and easy enough to swap from SD to MAF not to worry about not having a stock MAF car. they both run pretty strong.
Speed density is what Ford used before mass air. As I understand it, the amount of fuel that gets mixed with air is predetermined based on the engine speed, whereas the MAF actually measures how much air is coming through and determines how much fuel to mix with it based on the measurement.
As for temperature, mine pretty much stays around 188 degrees, too.
Yeah, I was actually planning on bumping the timing up sometime last week, before going to the track Wednesday night, but didn't get a chance. Think it will make much of a difference in my 1/4 mile time?
Sweet. So that, along with bringing my 60' time down to about 2.0-2.1, will gain me a total of about 8 tenths of a second. Then if I do a tune-up, I should be right around where I should be for being stock.
