Do these exhaust tips look stupid?

Today, a buddy of mine brought over some new exhaust tips that he has been working on and talking about for weeks! Don't tell too may people, he is trying to get a patent on them at the moment!

I think that these will really bring out that Mustang "Trade Mark" sound that everyone enjoys!

They are also good for plowing fields and doing landscaping work in general.

They seem to be great around around bushes, flowers, and pretty much any type of yard work! They also make a great wedding gift, in case you decide to marry your first cousin, like I did!

MUCH better but........still too long! A muffler shop shouldn't charge much to redo the hanger.

Telewanger- The exhaust on your 67 Vette that you are talking about was side pipes correct? Much different than the stock out the back exhaust.

You guys are taking me too seriously! The part about the Redneck or Dukes of Hazzard was supposed to be a stereotypical joke.

All of the snobs that drive a Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, or whatever, around here always think that Camero, Mustang, Hot Rod, or jacked up Pickup Truck drivers are all Rednecks.

If they hear your vehicle engine in traffic, at a stop light, or somewhere, they just give you this "Dumb Redneck Go To Hell" look.

They think a car should have no sound at all, because it might upset their dog or babies in the back seat, I guess!

We have a lot of rich people living on the Intracoastal Waterway and lakes around here. They complain about boat and Jet Ski noise. If they didn't want to hear a boat, or people having fun, why did they move on the water in the first place. They should have put their million dollar house out in the woods.

You got a problem with rednecks?

Looks better but I agree with S351 still a little too long

Serious Question / No Joke!

I realize that you probably think that I am an idiot by now!

This thread has been kind of funny, but it's getting pretty silly as you all know.

Is there a problem, when you can see where the exhaust connects to the existing pipes, under a car, or does the pipes sticking out past the bumper a little bit bother you the most?

Before, I did the modification, you could hardly see the exhaust pipes, now you can see them. They are nice shiny stainless steel.

Some people hates the color yellow. Some people hates Mustangs, period! Some people hate my wheels! Some people hate the skinny tires on the front of the car! Some people thinks the hood looks stupid!

Some people think that the exhaust tips that I bought completely destroys the looks of the car, but I am not seeing it, for some reason! Yeah, they were pretty long before, but they are only sticking out about 1 3/4 inches past the bumper now.

A lot of people won't even drive a Ford. A lot of people won't drive a Chevy, Dodge, Lexus, etc.!

At this point, I have decided to quit asking so many questions because it is a never ending answer. Everyone likes different things. I wish that I could make everyone happy, but it will never happen.

If I get laughed at in traffic due to my car's color, tires, hood, exhaust, or whatever, then it was meant to be!

For me it's how far they stick out past the bumper. I think they look much better if they are closer to the bumper.

Everyone has their own likes/ dislikes but you asked the question and every answer was to shorten them up. It does look alot better now but for me still too long.
It's your car so do what you want and make it how you like it. :D

Heres a pic of one of my cars.....yeah its a different rear bumper but I couldn't imagine having them sticking out as far as you have yours. I had these 3 1/2" tips put on and this is where I chose to have them placed. They don't stick out at all.

for me it's how far they stick out. there's a bunch of people running the bell looking tips. but not many stick out that far. but like stated before it's your car do what you want. remember you've asked for opinions. just don't get your panties in a wad when everyone doesn't agree with you. you 100% right- you can't please everybody but you can please yourself.

Last week I bought some tips.

I can't bring the exhaust tips in any further. There is a welded support bracket in the way that holds up the tail pipes, and the tips are about 9 inches long. (Magna Flow Stainless Steel)

I have a Dodge Ram 1500 truck, and they are also sticking out. like many custom trucks and cars that I have seen at car shows. The tips are sticking out about 4 inches past the bumper.

Do you think that they look really stupid?

Several people have told me that they wish that they would have longer tips that would stick out so you can see them better.

If you can't see the nice tips, I can't imagine why people would buy them in the first place!

If you can find a 24" or longer tip, it'll be perfect. Just avoid showing the main exhaust piping.

Again, if you like it, then that is what matters, but it does seem that most people in the mustang community do not agree. I think it looks much better now that you have tucked them some. I do agree that they still do stick out a little too far. Also, as mentioned, I think it would look cleaner if the exhaust that is exposed were all the same diameter, whereas now the spot where the tips connect is not as clean of a look. I do not think it is a matter of people not liking chrome, as the tips could be aluminized, or black, and I think people would react the same way. I also am not sure why you say you can't see the tips when they are tucked, because although not as visible, they can still be seen.

I think these pipes look great on these SN95s

Less is more.. I still think they stick out too far... Exhaust tips aren't supposed to catch your eye.. Subtle things make or break a car.. If you want to attract peoples attention to the tips on the underside of your car, you are doing a good job.. I prefer to draw their eyes to other parts of the car.
