AMP, Stangparts, et al have kits. A search in here will reveal a ton, including peoples' thoughts on the kits vs piece-mealing it or using new parts.

Faster depends on how fast and accurately you can shift. You will spend almost as much on the swap as you would to get a built trans and converter. Don't get me wrong, I like 5spd's. The question is would I convert a car. I think I'd just buy it the way I wanted in the first place. An auto trans with a shift kit and good converter is easier to drive and race than a stick. Auto's do eat about 5%-8% of your power over a stick, but if the shift points are set properly you can still beat someone with equal mods that doesn't shift at the proper time. Does a stick feel faster, yes. So put 4:10's gears in and your auto will feel fast too.

but i have out run 3 5 speed 94-95 mustang gt. they dont seem to be that much faster. and they have the same thing done to their cars.

That's my point exactly. If your buddies shift too quick, a common problem, an auto with pedal to the metal will win. Most of the time 5spd's just "feel" quicker off the line. The difference is about 20-30HP sucked up in the trans. The difference can be tuning or that they just really suck at shifting. If you don't have a shift kit get one. Also, 3:73 or 4:10 gears. After that you may not want to part with your slush box. FYI, power breaking an auto at the line is a lot easier than dumping/smoking a stock clutch at the line.

Yes, with the same engine and an experienced driver in the 1/4 mile they can be about a 1/2 second or more faster. An inexperienced driver can smoke the clutch, burn the tires, shift too early, too late, or too slow missing the power band. Then you have him

why is the harness needed?
if you use an auto eec/harness,will the reverse and nuetral lights still work?
also,I have a chip tuner tweecer.
Im going to just fix it up to a 5spd binery.

but whats this harness about? would i still need one?
