I'm asking cause I've seen black mustangs with black wheels nowadays, but didn't use to see them before. How about a black hood on a red car? Does this make us a bit ricer? I'm not offending anyone, I'm just asking cause my car has a black hood and the car is red. Anyone else think this way or is it just me?

People with civics thinks people with loud Mustangs are somewhat ricers... It's just a different thinking I guess

I put performance stickers all over my toolbox. I always say it's how I keep the ricer in me at bay.

I try to do things as opposite from a ricer as possible.

My friend has a black 95 GT, with a white Cobra R hood. It actually looks pretty tight, almost like a DPS car!

i think the color car/black hood look is very racey to me, rAcey, not rIcey. if guys w/ rice do it, it's because they want to look racey, but since they drive rice, THEY make it ricey.

it's kind of like gay people and the rainbow--they took an awesomely simple natural phenomenon and twisted it, hehe.

I think my old fox mustang had some 'rice' in it....racing seats, black rims, tinted windows, big spoiler (saleen)
Wasnt ricey, but those things are usually associated w/ rice

Absolutely .......

As long as it's painted the SAME black as the car!!!

J/K ... but I had a c/f hood on my yellow '95 GT. It was painted the same as the car ..... I don't think it would look right with the "weave" thing going on.

There's a difference between making your car look ricey and making it look nice. I had underglow on my old mustang and it looked good. I'm thinking about getting it for the vert... Just not the top thing on my list.

Who here saw that video of Jinx's stang with the strobes in the grill? I actually thought that was pretty cool. The more I saw it, the more I liked it.

(he's a volunteer firefighter, that's why he has them)

I was thinking earlier, how we hate the sound of a 4cyl and love the v8 mustang (who doesn't, lol).

But that is what we grew up with, what was hot back in time, and even now. But these ricers are growing up in the *** age, where everyone likes these crappy *** cars.

So of course, they will do what all car people do, get louder exhaust, make their car look nicer (subjective opinion obviously, as they love stickers), etc.

they are just going with the times, just as we are doing to our cars.

Food for thought, just playing devil's advocate here.

i agree--it's been the "hot" thing to do for a few years no--fix up an import. the problem is that too many don't do that great a job. honestly, too many to do a ****ty job.

i think a lot of us here have respect for cars like the supra, skyline, z (old and new), wrx sti -- even civics and integras that are fixed up right. the problem is all the posers. there are just too many of them, and unfortunately, they're crap py cars are in the front of our minds when we think import, thus rice.

sometimes it's because people can't afford to fix their cars up, sometimes it's because they have ****ty taste, but either way it's a concious decision--rice is a concious decision. just look at the civic FOOSE designed--it doesn't have all this crazy body kit crap all over it to make it look like optimus prime's sick twisted brother. the paint job is a little busy, but very tasteful. the engine definately had some work done to it and it hauls ass. hell, i wouldn't doubt it could beat a lot of our cars (well, mine at least, hehe). point is, it was done in good taste, and good taste is what "ricers" don't have.
