I just got my car all up and running with the chip, and let me tell you it's awesome. I LOVE boost. Anyway, i'm sure JMS programmed my chip according the the stock setting for the IAC screw for the idle. When i got my car dynoed the guy at the shop was messing with it to get it to idle right. It's idling too high now with the chip, so i figured that screw bein off could cause this. Do you know how many turns from the closed position it's suppose to be? thanks

Do you mean the base idle screw on the TB?
Why not just back it down until you get the proper idle?
Otherwise here is the link to how to reset it...

I'm just looking to find out where that allen head screw on the t-body is in stock position. I thought it was like a turn and a half out, but i wasn't sure. I know it's been discussed on this forum before. Thanks for your help.

The stock setting is usually 1 1/2 turns counter clockwise. There must be enough space using a feeler gauge of .010 between the Allen screw and the throttle stop plate before making the adjustment.

If you don't have a feeler gauge, improvise using 1/2 a turn when the screw no longer makes contact.

I think he's talking about the allen head screw on the IAC itself. It's the one covered by that rubber plug. Ya know ... I just messed with mine today, and was wondering where baseline was, and how important it is to stay near that. What does it really do?? I know it varies the amount of air that enters at idle .... could that make my car run leaner at idle?? It's running SOOOO rich now. Maybe that'll lean it a little.

Anyone who knows for sure - can you let us know??? Thanks!

The screw on the IAC valve doesn't have anything to do with your a/f ratio. It only dictates how much air is coming in at idle. The MAF is the only thing that measures the amount of air coming in, which dictates how much fuel is added/removed.

Your ECT/IAT could be to blame also. They calculate the density of the air by way of temperature.

When did you start running rich? Was it after your last re-flash of the chip? When was your last re-flash?

If your comp setting haven't been touched lately, you might look to your MAF/IAT/ECT.

Yes, i am talking about the one with the rubber plug on it. What is the stock setting of that screw?
