Do you need camber plates w/Eibach pro kit??

Previous owner installed the Pro kit and got an alignment. At highway speeds I get a lot of vibration in the steering wheel, and when I brake it seems to pull to the left or right sometimes... it's not TOO bad but it feels like I have to fight the steering wheel sometimes. Are these signs that I need camber plates or is it something else?

No problems with 1.5" drop on my 01' convertible. No cc plates & no front end alignment issues. My tires are wearing fine & car drives straight as an arrow on the freeway with no vibration. Sounds like you have some other problem going on. You could start by checking to make sure your wheels are balanced properly.

The vibration is probably from the tires being out of balance or a bad wear pattern. The pulling can be alignment or even tire size or tread design. Putting a larger or an aggressive tread designed tire on will make the car follow imperfections in the pavement and sometimes cause pulling. It could also effect direction under braking but that may be the brakes causing that.

The need for CC plates is subject to how well the car fell in the min/max tolerances when built. Some cars can be lowered and never need the plates, some should have the plates even at stock ride height.

Along with being able to set the correct camber another advantage to using CC plates when lowering a Mustang is being able to make the car track straight by adjusting the caster. Adding positive caster makes a car go straighter and keeps the outside tires tread more parallel to the pavement during cornering. I like to compare positive caster to pushing a wheelbarrow, if you were to push a wheelbarrow with the handles pointing straight up in the air it is difficult to control its direction of travel, while the more you bring the handles down towards parallel to the ground the more control of direction you gain. In that way positive caster has the same effect on the front tires following a straight forward line.

The Mustang does best when you get 4 to 5 degrees of positive caster dialed in so that alone requires CC plates to acheive. :nice:

I had 2 alignments without C/C plates after I put my Eibach Pro-Kit springs on. Both shops said the alignment was within factory specs. I had more problems with the car pulling different directions and vibration. I put BBK C/C plates on and realigned again with great results. Car is perfect now. I highly recommend getting C/C plates if you do any type of after market lowering.
