It's good to have it grab up high for powershifting. It will not slip as long as there is some freeplay in it. It is VERY hard to shift fast with a clutch that grabs on the floor.
Aliate X said:its a big differnce, the difference would be from chirping 1st to 2nd (bone stock car), powershift would send the car sideways in a 1st to 2nd shift. If you can nail every gear down the track powershifting, its an easy way to shave a few tenths off.
It's gotta be "just right" or it's a wasted run. It's not adjustable?25thmustang said:My car actually grabs very close to the floor, but it has never been right. Car was an AOD that we swapped a T5 in, and for some reason never felt like a stock T5 equipped car. Maybe thats why my dads 91 was easier to shift when stock?

Also mine has a stock quadrant, no firewall adjuster, but the cable is adjustable at the tranny. I have it adjusted almost all the way out and its still low. Ive gotten used to it though!
