Hey John, I was wondering, If I could install regular bearings (kind of like the ones you use for the spring perches) in place of the LCA bushing, you know, without having to take out the tube and replace it with a thicker walled one. Or is it better (safer) to do the swap like you do with a spherical bearing?

You need to use a spherical bearing, even on a 65/66 car.

yes, to ronstang you listen. a spherical bearing in the lower control arm will allow the arm to follow a natural curve easily, where as a fixed bearing will bind. remember that the lower arm does not move up and down only, but front to back as well.

Better late than never. I agree, the lower arm needs a spherical bearing.
