I am a TOYOTA service technician, and the other day a customer brought in a Tacoma with a FLEX-A-LITE twin electric fan. The fit and finish was really good. Good "full radiator contact" and high CFM. I contacted Flex A Lite to inquire if they had one like this for the '79-'93 Mustangs, and they were really no help. Does anyone have any input on this?

I currently have an '86 GT with a TAURUS fan.

thanks

I dont know about Flex-a-lites personally (though it seems like more than a few guys run them on their stangs), but SPAL makes some nice (and low profile) fans.

I am an OEM kind of guy and were I choosing a fan for the stang, it would be a Viper fan or a Mark VIII fan. Both were ~150 bucks new last time I checked (little while ago).

Is your Taurus fan a 3.8L fan? Are you not happy with it? (just curious to hear gripes or kudos from folks). :)

Good luck.

flex-a-lite does make a specific fan for the 87-93 5.0l. they call it the black magic fan. i have one that was a prototype and have had it for ten years with no problems. check summit, they carry the fan.

Dual spal 11", Taurus, Mark VIII and possibly a viper fan if you don't mind fabricating some brackets. I did the viper fan for the hell of it but any of those would be great options. Back it up with a dc controler and you are set.
