I've definitely seen worse pictures of driveways. I've always got the truck, or the wife's "go to work" Sentra, for backup. Still hopelessly looking for something in my price range.

I drive my foxbody way more than my truck, overall...that being said, my Mustang had been off the road for about 3 months, and won’t be ready for another month or so. As someone else said, it can do DD duty but you better have something else ready for the day it leaves you high and dry. Under normal circumstances though, I only drive my truck if it’s really rainy or there’s salt on the roads. A tuned Cummins is almost as fun as the fox though lol
The bands got a point, but here is the true lesson.
I’ve got the wife in something she likes, it’s reliable and comfortable so that means I can pretty much play as I like. She does get irked when I have to use her vehicle because both of my vehicles are f****n with me...only happened once or twice...I've definitely seen worse pictures of driveways. That’s the way all studes were. They ran out of money, and creativity.....ultimately out of business. I had a red 53 Champion tat I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel and sold it to buy, and build the red 89 Mach 1I'm not giving up yet, but absolutely not getting rid of the Euro ride just so I can deal with the clapped out garbage I'm running into. I'm really thinking that I might still sell it, then just buy some sort of cheap daily. Like most of us, I've got different "pots of money" that things come out of. Selling the Audi would give me more "car fund" to play with some projects. Note, I still have the Jeep truck and my Grandfather's 72 highboy to finish. Neither is a rush, so I think I'll keep looking for something that gets the creative juices flowing.
I did spend a week debating on a Studebaker Champ (like the one above) that had a 400 Pontiac in it. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how it make it any cooler than an old truck that did burnouts. The beds on these always bothered me. Looks like they ran over budget and just bought whatever they could slap on.
Mike, I think the saddest part is that I honestly felt that if I could make it cool, it would be my greatest automotive project. It was solid, painted flat black, and already had some 70s era wheels. I just couldn't figure anything to make it more aesthetically pleasing beyond paint and body. I'm no Dave, but patient enough to re-work anything I screw up on. Regardless, I just couldn't come up with anything to make it better. I did see this the other day. Can you daily a gasser?That’s the way all studes were. Jrichker, always figured everything in your stable would be close to flawless. It's the influence of aviation maintenance cycle in your blood.I still drive my 89 5.0 5 speed LX daily, but it's only like 12 miles roundtrip to work.
The last thing I fixed was the oil pressure gauge that fluctuated so badly that it buzzed and a cold engine miss at idle. Both were fixed by cleaning/tugging on the 10 pin wiring harness connectors.

On another note. I've decided that I'm eventually going to try and build a Willy's Jeep circa 194x-195x. I'm going to start looking for a flat fendered body to make a Roadkill esque 2-wheel drive Jeep. I'll wait my time, and still look for a cool daily, but have a pretty solid line of thought regarding the build. Unfortunately, I just missed a tunnel rammed 350 to stick into the project.

Only that each time it happens I have to look in the mirror and admit it was laziness that I didn't do it myself considering I've got all the required tools. So can you get away with a fender/hood repaint, or will the whole car need done?The mechanical & electrical systems are in good shape, but the car needs a paint job. I let a recovering drug addict detail the car and he buffed big patches of the clear coat off the front fenders and hood. It wasn't much later that he disappeared and I haven't seen or heard from him since...

10 pin aircraft cannon plugs would be the desired fix to replace the existing 10 pin salt and pepper plugs...You could still remove the engine with only 2 cannon plugs to disconnect and reconnect on engine installation. This is the way to go . Little time and patience and the right tools. I did a Holley efi harness but with a fire wall bulkhead this way In a customer / friends car .10 pin aircraft cannon plugs would be the desired fix to replace the existing 10 pin salt and pepper plugs...You could still remove the engine with only 2 cannon plugs to disconnect and reconnect on engine installation.
