look at the website. It has a quick release button, retractable and its only 3 pt harness instead of 5. Wouldnt be any more difficult then relasing the stock belts

I did. Did you read the reviews? The one guy was saying that that the adjustability wasn't quick and easy. MPS Autosalvage
mpsautosalvage.com say they have belts for $75 each (I believe that's just for she strap). But all they do is hoard junkyard items and charge retail. I'm going to check the local wrecking yard and see what they have. MPS might be last resort. @2000xp8 I'm not seeing these sets you speak of.

Actually I think a 5 or 6 point harness would be great. Makes it difficult when my son drives the car with his girlfriend to get a frisky

Understand this. If you do grab one from a junkyard you might be back there in 3 months or never again. It's a crap shoot.

In my case I just removed the pendulum unit from the lower retractor, and I can pull out the belt now. The upper retractor still locks when I do a quick tug, so that is still working. Yeah its not a great solution, but it works.

I might when I get time order in a passenger belt for an 2002 convertible and see if it is possible to mount it in our car. I will lose the lower retractor, but again it better than having a non working or used belt that might or might not work when needed.

You are right. it's the same for crankshafts. Better to do the best you can and at least get one finished in the free market.

Did you call them, or is that just the claim on their website? I recently had seatbelts rebuilt out of an 86' car.

OEM seat belts are almost exclusively made over seas. Some of these aftermarket companies might assemble/rebuild the system here in the states, but the components are almost definitely made overseas. It's not like they're getting built in dark, smoky old dungeons though, some of these manufacturing facilities are very nice and would rival anything we have in the states.

I would strongly discourage disabling any part of a seat belt system, because you are very likely disabling something that will save your life in a crash.

I would also discourage using used seatbelts in your car... You just don't know where they've been.

There are a few aftermarket seatbelt repair/replacement companies out there, in addition to what @revhead347 already posted. I have communicated with seatbeltplanet.com a few times (but have yet to buy anything from them) and there is also seatbeltsolutions.com

Thanks for your request. We do not offer an OEM replacement. I know Ford has discontinued them. We offered webbing replacement but have recently discontinued this service. I would try to find used belts from salvaged vehicles.

Pft, anything from LRS you take your chances. Missing pieces, ty customer service, delays, they have it locked down.

I have check with all the above mention suppliers. Simply put they do not supply or refurbish seat belts for our model year cars at this time. Also from seatbeltplanet.com
