Does the 05 bullit wheels fit 94-98?

I have a chance to buy some 05 take offs for my father-in-law would they fit his 96 gt

I was told they would not, I was looking at the classifieds on here and Corral and there is a guy picking up a 2006 and selling the bullet rims and new tires for $500.00. I asked a few people and they do not think so.......all in all it's heresay but I thought I would give my 2 cents. LOL

They're the same bolt pattern, but I'm pretty sure the offset and/or backspacing is different. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the rear end in the 05's are wider, so the rims would have that "sunk-in" look on an older stang.

There has to be a way to do it, because there is a 97 GT vert running around here with the other 17" wheel on the 05's...the one with the split spokes.
