if i got the trickflow H/C/I kit for my car it would make about 300hp to the wheels when tuned good an everything. with my 4:30 gears would those hurt me more then help me? i keep thinking of it like this, since my motor would be semi built it would revv up faster because im making more power and i would run out of gear alot faster than i would with my stock motor, does that make sense or am i looking at it the wrong way? i keeping thinking because my driveline will be spinning faster because the motor is working harder that my rpms will just fly up. help me out with this please because i like the 4:30s and dont really wanna swap them out, thanks

some say that with an HCI that 4.30s will be a little too much gear. but if you like to race on the highway, then i guess theyll be good. They just seem like they wont want to let your tires hook up at all

highway? 4:30s deff are not a highway gear, 373s and lower (numerically) are more of a highway gear. racing on the highway i would run out of gear

4.30s are a highway gear. I know this bc you can easily drive 70mph on the highway with them. Are you telling me you dont drive on the highway with your car?

Think of it this way: by having 4.30s' your rpm's won't drop as far during gear changes. Thus, keeping your engine in its optimal powerband which is the ideal situation at WOT. Also, the H/C/I will move up the RPM peaks and your 4.30s' will help to get your car moving.

i guess you have to drive a car with them to understand, a highway race isnt usually a quarter mile its whoever pulls the most in most cases, there is no set length, i would run out of gear and get beat by a car that is a little slower then mine because they have more gear, so when i run out (which would be fast if im crusin at 70 already) they would pass me. i dont htink your looking at it the right way, i am cruising at 70 but im also im 5th gear to keep the rpms down, my cars top speed is probably about 110 in 5th gear at about 4k rpms.

i think thats ur answer right there. ur rpm range will move up for sure so you will have more rpms to work with and as you know already, ur rpms stay up higher with the higher gear during shifts and with that extra power, you are gonna enjoy it quicker than lower geared cars. only thing i know ur gonna have a big problem with is traction. ive seen stock geared (3.07) cars have trouble with 330hp. gonna have to upgrade traction too but im sure you probably already have somethin decent due to the 4.30s right now.
