Does This Seem Right? (Tire Question)

Hi Guys,

I just added a pair of 315/35 17 Goodyear F1 GS-D3's out back and now I cant chirp the tires. Are these things really that much better than the old 245/45 17 Kumhos I had out there? The car seems accelerate a lot smoother with these tires, but I miss being able to chirp. Do I need to just try harder (whatever that means) Or are these tires just to big for a basically stock motored mustang to overcome?

Dude if you are getting that good of traction it is a good thing. You can always do a really strong clutch dump. OR buy a Kenne Belle!!!

You should still be able to chirp tires. Sometimes when you get new tires the traction is really good initially and as they wear a little the traction will be easier to break. Give them a week or so and see if they don't break easier.

When i first got my GS D3's they barked loud, now with my current rear end messed up I break traction from 2000RPM till 4800RPM lol. Some of that might also be with the colder temps here recently...enjoy the new found traction!

My D3's bite! I have to get on it hard to brake them loose...plus you went from 245 to 315!!! that alot more tire and a very sticky one at that.

Werd! Chirpping? Regardless of the tire (and the GS-D3 is the bomb), you should be able to get sideways at will.

On the way home I got the car to go a little sideway on the 1-2 shift, but it didnt make any noise. I tried to do a burn out and the tires spun but didnt make any noise. So that solves that I guess.

There is a lot more mass to turn with 315s and the appropraite rim, more unsprung rotational weight is bad.

That's the first thing I noticed about my GS-D3s... they wouldn't break loose near as easy as my last two sets of tires. They are VERY sticky!

It sounds to me like you got a really nice set of tires there!.. if you want some chirping back, then get some more power or some crappy tires haha jk.. wish i had the same "problem" as you right now
